What awaits you?To take our operations to the next level, the BMW Groups – Delivery Assurance department is looking for a data science / Data engineering intern to help start its Supply Chain Innovations Think Tank (SCITT) and continue BMW’s leadership in supply chain management.The goal of SCITT will be to research emerging technologies including Data Science (ML, AI, BI etc), UX, and creativity creation and build BMW’s supply chain leadership in these areas.You will be part of the BMW Supply Chain Digitalization Working Circle, a global network of supply chain experts deploying and sharing digital solutions at the BMW Group.As part of SCITT you will be involved in building collaborations within all resorts of the BMW Group including engineering, purchasing and production and honing BMW’s know how of data science.You will help to expand our network and build relationships with our innovation’s hubs in locations such as in Silicon Valley, and Tokyo in regard to advances in supply chain analytics.You will also help to build a backbone of knowledge to fuel future innovations in our Material Steering and Delivery Assurance group by developing a solution to centralize information and effectively deploy knowledge back into the business.We will create a constant knowledge feed to BMW Management on trends and possibilities for growth in the data science space.While the long-term strategic alliances are hallmark of SCITT, as a data scientist we must be able to demonstrate applications and pursue quick wins.As an intern in our group we will tackle solutions inhouse and find opportunities to create immediate value by building BI solutions.Our Innovations Think Tank is looking for data experts with serious analytical and statistical skills.You will help to embrace data analytics tools and methods confidently and responsibly to solve business challenges.You leverage data to discover patterns and solve strategic analytic business problems.You will support to develop static and interactive data visualization of your findings. What you should bring along?Currently enrolled full time in an undergraduate or graduate program at an accredited college or university studying Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Informatics, Data Science. Master’s Degree preferred.Knowledge in areas Concept, implementation, and optimization of data pipelines.Knowledge in Python for AI-/ Analytics-libraries such as Scikit, TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy an advantage or equivalents.Knowledge in Data Engineering (Spark/SQL): understanding of different data visualizations Tools for Data Visualization (i.e. AWS QuickSight, Tableau, Power BI, Impact plotly/dash, Angular.js/React.js).Experience in Software Engineering und Agile software development preferred (i.e. Git, Scrum, Jira, CI/CD etc.).Knowledge in areas Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud-Architekturen (i.e. AWS, Azure, Impact).Knowledge of data warehouse and business intelligence tools and technologies such as Informatica, SSIS, Business Objects, SAS, OLAP.Ability to develop from complex data analysis web-based solutions for business use in understanding data preferred.You should be a self-starter and passionate.Have open mind and the ability to work in ambiguous situations.
