We are searching for our headquarter in Nuremberg as soon as possible (Senior) IT Specialist (m/f) Storage / SAN As a team member of the Storage team you will work on projects and provide 3rd level support within a virtual team in the technology domain of storage arrays, file services, backup, and SAN infrastructure. You will actively participate in improving the service and its efficiency with smart technology choices and slim administration processes as well as: Be part of a centre of expertise in the domain of server and storage Provide documentation of services and technologies managed by the team; ensure that routine tasks can be handed over to 2nd level support Work on the definition and implementation of handover processes to introduce global or bespoke services into operation Maintain an awareness of known issues and identify resolutions Troubleshoot incidents escalated form the 2nd level team Attend major incident calls as required Participate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for servers and storage conjunction with the enterprise architects Recommend and design improvements to the environment on a continuous basis, in coordination with the Enterprise Architecture team and following defined change procedures Work on projects involving the technology or team competencies Stay proficient in best practices and leading technologies in the technology domain Your Profile: We’re looking for an experienced specialist with at least 3 years experience in managing NAS and SAN storage systems and SAN (FC) infrastructure. One of the responsibilities of this role will be proactive monitoring of storage and SAN infrastructure. Additional skills in the area of server operating systems (Linux and Windows) and their link to shared storage as well as in backup technologies are a definite plus. Education, Certificates & Performance Requirements Education in the field of computer science or at least 3 years or more of working experience Proven knowledge in maintaining storage and SAN infrastructure Technical Skills 3+ years of experience implementing and administering enterprise class storage systems and SANs (FC, iSCSI, FCoE) Know-how in performance analysis (e.g. Navisphere Analyzer) and monitoring of storage arrays Knowledge of snapshot technologies (e.g. SnapView) Experience in implementing and administering enterprise backup and archiving systems Very good command of written and spoken English Are you interested?
