Located in Darmstadt we offer the position: Head of Global Internal Communications and Collaboration (m/f) Position Overview: As a key leader on the Industrial marketing team, the position holder leads the business unit’s effort to create and drive impactful communications in support of strategic priorities. As the most visible leader of Communications internally, the individual will be responsible for setting the strategy and day-to-day execution of all major internal communications for TE globally. The role requires a broad range of communications and project and people management skills; exceptional proactive internal client service skills; the ability to be strategic, but also execute; the ability to work well in teams; creativity and innovation in communications delivery; exceptional writing ability and a strong track record of success developing and implementing impactful communications programs that drive engagement. The role must function effectively within a fast-paced, non-hierarchical professional services partnership. The ideal candidate will be a strategist, innovator and excellent storyteller and will have a positive, can-do attitude, bringing fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the group. Key Tasks: Developing and implementing an overall internal communications strategy which engages employees with TE Connectivity’s Industrial strategy and key priorities. Working with Industrial leadership team, enable key strategic priorities through communications, bringing new perspectives that help employees engage and support the strategic priority. Create and execute successful communications programs that strengthen leaders, managers and employees understanding of TE Connectivity’s Industrial key priorities. Working with executives in key functional roles including VP/CTO, VP of Operations, and Sr. Director of HR, identify communications objectives, brainstorm creative solutions, develop communications plans, and lead or provide oversight of the plans through multiple channels. Provide communications advice and support to business leaders on a range of ad hoc strategic issues and projects as required. Provide senior direction and leadership to direct and indirect reports who have a key role in devising and executing communications in the company. Developing and rolling out the company’s approach to internal social collaboration, particularly to ensure employee engagement, adoption of key priorities, and solicit feedback for improvement. Extending the newly-rolled out TE Industrial brands internally, and developing programs with employees and agency partners that help to energize and engage employees with the brand. Taking the lead on 1-2 executive leadership events per year, working with internal stakeholders and outside firms to create an experience that reinforces the company’s strategy and messages to our top 50 leaders and innovators. In coordination with corporate teams, support of acquisitions or divestitures, lead all internal communications efforts to support a transaction, from announcement through integration (in the case of an acquisition), including directing the efforts of external agencies and communications firms. Leveraging technology where possible to effectively engage employees with TE Industrial’s strategy and key priorities. Working with agencies, vendors and internal resources to concept and manage the development of online and offline communications projects such as the company’s intranet, webcasts, social media sites, videos, apps, microsites, Web content and other communications. Designing metrics to measure progress and results for communication strategies as required. Crafting, developing, and editing (as required) critical firm-wide communications from senior leadership. Ideal Candidate Will Include: Experience managing internal communications and/or marketing for a large, complex, multinational manufacturing company, either on the corporate or agency side. A best athlete in communications, irrespective of industry expertise. A successful track record of working with a widely dispersed, decentralized workforce, including workforces in plants. A high degree of comfort building relationships and credibility with an impressive workforce comprised of engineers, material scientists, etc. Expertise communicating with internal audiences using a variety of channels and innovative solutions, in order to reach employees at all levels. A champion of technology who sees social media as a critical channel for effective, two-way engagement. Additional Requirements: At least 10 years of demonstrated impact in internal or external roles involving executive communications with examples of non-traditional, innovative approaches preferred. Ability to speak and write fluently in both English and German languages. Outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills and a track record of working effectively and forming peer-level relationships with senior members of an organization. Experience in developing multi-channel internal communications programs. Creative thinker, with a desire and ability to look for better ways to approach issues and situations. Ability to create champions and advocacy. Successful track record engaging employees to TE’s brand, strategy, HR initiatives and company programs on a large scale. Exceptional writing and editing skills, and in particular, the ability to write in different styles to reflect the nature of the stakeholder, audience and message. The ability to execute programs with speed, accuracy and efficiency by applying strong leadership and project management. Experience with current web practices, supporting technologies, new media (including social media and viral messaging). An uncompromising commitment to quality and detailed oriented but able to see the big picture. Self-motivated, with an appetite for working entrepreneurially and a track record as self-starter.
